About the tournament
Who We Are |
Brian Olson died at age 39 of colorectal cancer. A father, husband, and celebrated member of the community, Brian was too young to die. In 2001 Brian's work colleagues at Hewlett Packard in Boise, Idaho decided to create the Brian Olson Memorial Golf Classic, a golf tournament in his honor to raise money for efforts to increase awareness for colon cancer. For the past 16 years the tournament has raised over $700,000 for the St. Lukes Mountain State Tumor Institute as well as other organizations. What started out as a tournament to honor a friend has turned into much more, and we plan to keep the tournament running for years to come as we help decrease the amount of lives taken too soon by colorectal cancer.

"I just wanted to say thank you and tell you how awesome you and your fellow workers are! I received a free colon cancer screening recently and I needed it. I currently am being treated for breast cancer. I have no job, and no money. I lost a brother to colon cancer a few years ago and am the only sibling who hasn't had the screening. So God Bless You! You are definitely on my list of truly helpful people. Good job!" -Judith
